Earlier this year, we featured Computer Magic, and are glad to do so again. Her EP, Hiding Out From Our Time, is not only free, but it’s an amazing collective of keyboard and sampling filled bliss-pop songs – an EP that is completely DIY brilliance. All of the songs are so good that picking a couple to feature is difficult, which makes the free EP even more of a deal, and definitely something we’d pay for. Stand-outs include, but not limited to, the woozy keys of “On VHS”, the summery pop of “Teenage Ballad” and the more somber, “About You”. This summer, Computer Magic has been well-blogged and praised, and for good reason.

More music that we’d pay for also includes a free EP from celebrated singer-songwriter John Vanderslice. Plus, if you’ve heard of Vanderslice, chances are you may have also heard of Harvey Danger. Not only has he worked with Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie, The Postal Service), but Danger’s vocals are unmistakenly like Gibbards’, and vice versa. Also, check out Vulture Whale‘s frontman Wes McDonald presents Terry Ohms, plus Capstan Shafts, Death Culture at Sea, Fisherman and Wise Blood.
