About IRC

indierock

What a journey it has been. This is IRC’s 17th year in existence. Wow, ya all, time (the most valuable of all things except love) goes by fast. The years just peel away. But it’s been a blast, man. Yeah.

For those of you old enough, the glory days of blogs and indie rock were exciting, revealing and over-flowing with terrific music – more than one could absorb in a lifetime.

Before the days of social media, blogs were a mainstay of the indie rock and music underground scenes.

Many of the blogs that were the most popular a decade ago have been sold, closed or left up and running with no new posts.

While IRC ceased publishing original content on a regular basis in 2022, we manage to serve up tens of millions of pages to people worldwide, especially from 2008 through 2016.

In 2022, IRC started publishing all of the best daily/weekly content from indie sources across the web all into one place.

A significant number of hours was put into reviewing, coding, etc. feeds for all of the cats on the page, trying to incorporate just the best feeds for each.

Therefore, you have one reliable spot to get news about indie, rock and alternative music on a daily basis – and hopefully organized into an easy-to-view layout.
