official!**
Rumors that the legendary rock band **The Police**, who are among the
first trail blazers of alternative rock in the 1980s (when folks like me needed
to escape Wham, Motley Crew, Cindy Lauper, Duran Duran) are going to reunite for
a performance at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 11 have been confirmed according to the
website of the original and only drummer [Stewart Copeland](https://indierockcafe.com/2007/01/rumors-zapped-the-police-will-reunite-at-grammy-awards/ stewartcopeland.net)_._

The band is reportedly setting up in Vancouver, Canada for rehersals prior to their
Feb. 11 reunion performance. This has fueled speculation that the band is planning
a reunion tour for this summer to mark the 30th anniversary of the hit single that
made them big, “Roxanne”.
